Band: No Regrets
Album: Something Unnatural
First Impression: Didn't suspect ska at first look.
Album in One Word: Reflective
Sounds Like: Link 80, Dirty Larry
Makes Me Feel: Like when I used to love ska in junior high.
Why this Band is Unique: They experiment with adding a touch of hardcore to their usual pop-punk ska sound.
Who Would Like This Album: Fans of ska towards the Big D end, not so much the Reel Big Fish end.

I like this band. They play a cool mix of ska & pop-punk, and it's not as typical as it sounds. They incorporate just enough ska to make the pop-punk element unique the same way that they play just enough pop-punk to make the ska element unique. And on top of that they add a touch of hardcore to have fun with.
All though their new CD doesn't hit my personal ska bone the way that their first CD "A 7 Letter Word For Kill" did back when I used to see them play shows in my hometown, I could tell they're having a great time experimenting with new sounds and playing a refined version of their roots. I hope they keep it up as long as they can.
