Britain Attacks

Your British agent, Rebecca Alston, meets you at the dock of your hideout. Her face is grim as she speaks.

“I’ve just received word that the lousy Jean Lafayette has lined up most of Ratuga Bay alongside the Americans to defend New L’Oreans. We need your ships to break through their defenses. If you side with us, I can promise a full pardon…and legal control of Ratuga Bay so long as the British rule. Do we have a deal?”

Read both options, then choose one:

Heed Marcus Gladwell’s advice: Ally with the Americans, defend your homeland, and figure out how to deal with Jean Lafayette after.

Accept Rebecca Alston’s offer: Ally with the British in hopes of defeating Jean Lafayette now and controlling Ratuga Bay.

You ally with the Americans, and set out at once to join the fight against the British.

The British ships bombard the American defenses, but as your side returns fire it's clear that the British were not expecting such a determined resistance. Under your lead, scores of pirate ships surge ahead to push the British back from New L'Oreans.

    You have a new curse icon. Place sticker J1 on the PIRATE'S LOG J slot.

Britain Presses the Attack

Even with the pirates' help, the American defenses are no match for the mighty British navy. You lead your fleet through the hail of cannon fire to begin pressing the attack.

Ability Reference

Note: This ability reference list contains spoilers. Use sparingly as needed.

Character Abilities
Character Ability

Spend 1 "Any Resource" to take any amount of stored Resource cards from your Empire.

Restriction: Only the player who uses this ability may take the cards.

Character Ability

Spend 1 Coin to give the active player +2 to a skill check. You may use this after either player performs a skill check.

Restriction: Max 1 per turn.

Character Ability

Spend 1 Sword to give the active player +2 to a skill check. You may use this after either player performs a skill check.

Restriction: Max 1 per turn.

Character Ability

For each "Any Resource" spent the active player gains +1 to a single Skill Check. You may use this after either player performs a skill check.

Restriction: Max 2 per turn.

Character Ability

Each Coin you have may be spent as a Gem.

Restriction: May only be used during Rounds 1-2. Only the character with this ability may use the ability’s effect.

At any point during either player’s turn, you may spend 2 "Any Resource" to switch who the active player is. The new active player completes the current turn where the previous player left off, and then the next player starts their turn as normal. (If playing solo, switch which character is currently active that turn.)

Spend 1 "Any Resource" to flip the Empire Card over from the STRONGHOLD to the FLEET side.

Character Ability

Take any amount of stored Resource cards from your Empire for no cost.

For each Cannon spent the active player gains +2 to a single Skill Check. You may use this after either player performs a skill check

Spend 1 Gem to flip the Empire Card over from the STRONGHOLD to the FLEET side.

Character Ability

Spend 1 Cannon to ignore the current Crisis Effect. This may be used before any triggered Crisis is applied. Note that the effect will trigger again next turn if the active scene doesn’t change.
